古晋(猫城)介绍

古晋（马来语：Kuching）是马来西亚砂拉越州的首府(本州是馬國最大的州，位于婆罗洲北端的东马来西亚)。
注解：古晋也是所谓的猫城，在古晋北市也有个“猫博物馆”。Kuching是“古晋”的译音，而kucing才是马来西亚文中“猫”的意思。

语言

古晋作为马来西亚的一份子，语言成分自然也是多姿多彩的。和其他马来西亚城市一样的，马来语、英语、华语的流通性相当大马来语是政府及半政府机关的指定用 语.而英语则是通用语，在商业活动中广泛的被使用。华语虽说流通于华族之间，但事实上华族之间的沟通普遍使用方言，比如说福建话、客家话、廣東話、潮州 话、福州话等等。


人口

古晋省的南市人口有143,500；北市的人口有133,600；巴达万区有302,800，也是全砂最多人口的一个管辖区。以宗族区分的人口有华人(220,400)、马来人(207,000)、印度人及当地的内陆民族，也就是达雅族(58,100)。
住在古晋市区的华人以客家人居多。华人当中，福建人及诏安人又以从事商业及建筑業为主，客家人多务农，興化人多从事渔业、轮胎等零件业，海南人多经营咖啡店，潮州人多经营杂貨业，福州人也多数从商，还有金融及木材业。
虽然大马是以伊斯蘭教为国教，但仍属于宗教自由的国度，本地华人多信奉佛教、道教、基督教、天主教等等。最广为人知的，是青山岩的寺庙及“寿山亭大伯公庙”。
古晋是座民风淳朴的城市，跟其他大城市比较起来，古晋人的生活较悠闲，步伐没那么匆忙。
古晋更有一历史博物馆，展示历史文物，堪称东南亚最丰富的博物馆，里头拥有许多当地的古物及文明。

目前，古晋市的购物商场有23间，超过大约1300家的零售店分布在这些商场内，而所有商场的面积总和约125,000平方米。其中较受欢迎的购物中心 有：Crowne Plaza Riverside (河滨广场)、Tun Jugah (敦朱加大厦)、Sarawak Plaza (砂拉越大厦)、Hock Lee Centre (福利中心)、以及Wisma Saberkas (青统大厦)等。
此外，目前尚在建设中的购物中心有：

• Boulevard (富丽华广场) 将成为全砂最大型的商场，零售面积约720,000平方尺。
  • 首期商场于2007年12月22日开张；二期商场2008年11月开张。
  • 座落于4哩半 (永升对面)，4th 1/2 Miles Jalan Penrissen Road。
    • 超出240个不同面积的零售单位供出租。
    • 超出700个酒店公寓单位(2009年完成)。
    • 超出15万平方尺，有4层楼属于富丽华百货公司及霸级市场，为主要租户。
    • 超出11万平方尺充作餐厅、快餐店、熟食店、咖啡厅及饮食中心。
    • 超出9万平方尺充作娱乐场所，包含8间戏院、32球道保龄球中心、溜冰场、儿童娱乐中心、展览及促销厅。
    • 超过4万5千平方尺充作健身中心、健康按摩中心、瑜伽中心、韵律舞及健身中心、美容及肢体美发中心包括泳池。
    • 可容纳2千人的宴会厅。
    • 超出2千个停车位。

• The Spring (新欣) 将成为全砂最时尚的商场，零售面积约420,000平方尺。
  • 2008年1月开张。
  • 座落于肯雅兰 (新邦迪卡路旁)，Jalan Simpang Tiga。
    • 超出150个不同面积的零售单位供出租。
    • 超出10万平方尺，有3层楼属于百盛百货公司。
    • 超出3万平方尺充作8间最先进的戏院及健身中心。
    • 超出2万5千平方尺充作大型饮食中心。
    • 超出2万平方尺的美食超市，属于大强超市。
    • 超出1千5百个停车位。

• Green Heights Mall (青岩广场) 将成为古晋首家商场座落于市区范围外，零售面积约43,000平方尺。
  • 2008年4月开张。
  • 座落于青岩高级住宅区 (Shell比邻)，Jalan Serian。
    • 超出20个不同面积的零售单位供出租。
    • 超出2万平方尺，属于冷藏市场(Cold Storage)超市。

• One TJ (旺商场) 将成为全砂首家以ICT为主的商场，零售面积约65,700平方尺。
  • 2008年6月开张。
  • 座落于实都东路 (Heights Drive新商业中心)，Jalan Stutong。
    • 超出80个不同面积的零售单位供出租。
    • 超出1万平方尺的书店及饮食中心。

• Novotel (诺富特) 将成为古晋市中心最新的商场，零售面积约136,000平方尺。
  • 2009年春季开张。
  • 座落于猫眼岭路 (中华工商总会隔壁)，Jalan Bukit Mata。

• Plaza Merdeka (独立大厦) 将成为古晋市中心最大型的商场，零售面积约350,000平方尺。
  • 2010年中旬开张。
  • 座落于独立广场比邻 (中央邮政局对面)，Jalan Tun Haji Openg。
    • 超出200个不同面积的零售单位供出租。
    • 超出9千平方尺的展览及促销厅。
